I just found this blog and it's top drawer stuff. I've added it to the Online Archaeology toolbar. More info here: http://www.online-archaeology.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2345

I downloaded the viewer and data but didn't realise the licence implications. I've been waiting for a while for some good data to be made available so I can try to use it with the Google Maps API. I might give it a go, although the tiling at high zoom depth in the API is pretty limiting, but it's worth having a play anyway.

Actually, this IS a milestone. I really hope that more and more public archaeology projects will start releasing "their" data under free licenses.
And yes, it is very interesting to see if someone will do "something" with these data. Just counting the number of downloads could be a good start IMHO.
